Today marks the one year anniversary of our legal name change. The three of us combined our last names because it’s the closest thing we can do to getting married. None of us actually remembered it was today though until a reminder popped up on my phone. Wayne had just covered his face in shaving cream and we were heading up to Bainbridge Island in a bit for Wayne’s brother Jon’s birthday celebration.  Andrew and I decided to go for breakfast before we left so headed over to Junior’s Cafe. The line was crazy though and Hungry Tiger Too wasn’t open for another hour so we went to Blossoming Lotus. Andrew had a fruit and coconut whipped cream topped waffle and I had half biscuits and gravy and half tofu benedict. It was delicious! We brought the other half of my food to Wayne.

Before we headed to Bainbridge we grabbed some kale, tomatoes, and basil from our garden along with the cheese I made the day before to be used as pizza toppings.  John and Jon have a pizza oven in the back yard and it was getting fired up for the party.

We took a nice, long, beautiful drive up to the island. The party was in full swing when we got there so we got busy making our pizzas and then mingled with everyone.

Natale brought his frog, Walter and loved showing him off to everyone. He also loved sharing interesting facts about White’s Tree Frogs.

Today I learned that there is a pasta shape called Priest Strangler.
